Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Family to Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Globally
There’s been a lot of debate in recent months about the chipsets that will power Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 series, set to launch in January. Initially, it was rumored that the series would be Exynos-only, but later reports suggested that Snapdragon chips would be used instead.
A new rumor from South Korea confirms that the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will indeed use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 globally. According to the report, this decision was made to “maximize the performance” of the S25 series.
The Exynos 2500, on the other hand, will be used in the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, which are expected to be released in the second half of next year. This is an interesting twist, as the foldables have previously relied on Snapdragon chips. The report notes that Samsung will have time to improve the 2500’s yield and stabilize its performance before the foldables hit the market.
