The classic design of the Lumia series has been revived by HMD, and it seems that the company is set to release a new phone that pays homage to the iconic Lumia 1020. The phone, which has been leaked in silhouette form, features a centered circular camera island on the back, reminiscent of the Lumia 1020’s 41MP sensor.
The circular island is home to four lenses and an LED flash, which is a significant upgrade from the triple camera setup found on the HMD Skyline. The new phone is expected to be a high-end device, possibly featuring a quad-camera setup with a combination of high-quality sensors.
While the Skyline’s camera setup, which includes a 108MP primary sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, has received praise, it’s still lacking in certain areas. In contrast, the Lumia 1020’s camera was renowned for its exceptional image processing, which was a hallmark of the PureView series.
HMD has a long way to go if it wants to challenge the current camera leaders, but the company’s efforts to revive the Lumia design language and camera expertise are a step in the right direction.
