Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X-series chipsets come in two varieties: the X Plus lineup, featuring a 10-core Oryon CPU, and the X Elite, which comes in 12-core configurations. A new leak from Evan Blass confirms the key specs of the 8-core X Plus version, which is set to launch on laptops announced at IFA Berlin.

The 8-core X Plus will be a slightly cut-down version of the regular X Plus chip, featuring an 8-core Oryon CPU and shipping on CoPilot+ notebooks starting at $800.

According to earlier reports, the new chip will offer 3.4GHz single-core boost and 3.2GHz multi-core boost. It will also feature a cutdown Adreno GPU rated at 1.7 TFLOPS, LPDDR5X RAM with 30MB total cache, and support for triple external monitors at UHD resolution and 60Hz.

The 8-core X Plus will retain the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU with 45 TOPS, the Always-Sensing ISP, Wi-Fi 7, and 5G support.
