Infinix has announced its new Zero 40 series smartphones, featuring the Zero 40 4G and Zero 40 5G. Both phones boast curved AMOLED displays, 108MP main cameras, and 5,000 mAh batteries with 45W charging. The 5G variant comes with a more powerful chipset, wireless charging, and other upgrades.
The Zero 40 4G and Zero 40 5G share a 6.74-inch curved AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, up to 1,300 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The refresh rate varies, with the Zero 40 at up to 120Hz and the Zero 40 5G at 144Hz. Both phones feature a 50MP front-facing camera and in-display fingerprint scanner.
Around the back, both phones offer a 108MP main camera with Samsung’s ISOCELL HM6 sensor and OIS, joined by a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The Zero 40 5G can record up to 4K video at 60fps, while the Zero 40 tops out at 2K resolution at 30fps.
One notable feature is the GoPro mode, which allows users to pair the Zero 40/40 5G with a compatible GoPro camera and use the phone as a viewfinder and for controlling shooting modes directly from the camera app. The GoPro Quik app is also pre-installed on the phones.
The Zero 40 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset, paired with 12GB RAM and 256/512GB storage. The Zero 40, on the other hand, uses the Helio G100 alongside 8GB RAM and 256/512GB storage.
Both phones run XOS 14.5 based on Android 14, with 3 years of security patches and two Android version updates. The Zero 40 features Wi-Fi 5 connectivity, while the 5G variant gets speedier Wi-Fi 6e support. Both phones come with 5,000 mAh batteries and 45W wired charging, with the Zero 40 5G also supporting up to 20W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
The Infinix Zero 40 4G is available in Misty Aqua, Blossom Glow, and Rock Black colors, starting at MYR 1,200 ($279) for the 8/256GB trim in Malaysia. The Zero 40 5G comes in Violet Garden, Moving Titanium, and Rock Black, priced at MYR 1,699 ($395). Open sales in Malaysia are scheduled for September 8.
