Redmi has entered the smartwatch market with its latest offering, the Watch 5 Active. This device boasts a long-lasting battery that can last up to 18 days on a single charge, thanks to its 2-inch IPS LCD touchscreen and Bluetooth calling capabilities with clear+ noise cancellation technology.
At its core is Xiaomi’s HyperOS, ensuring smooth operation and wide compatibility with Android 6.0 or later and iOS 12 or above devices via Bluetooth 5.3. The watch can be managed through the Mi Fitness companion app, and its 320 x 385 pixel display boasts a brightness of 500 nits.
Built with durability in mind, the watch features a sturdy zinc alloy metal body construction and an IPX8 rating, making it suitable for swimming and other water-based activities. The device also offers over 200 customizable watch faces, allowing users to personalize their device to their liking.
Fitness tracking is a key feature, with the watch capable of monitoring over 140 sports and workout modes, as well as automatically detecting when the user has started exercising. It also tracks vital health metrics, including heart rate, blood oxygen levels, sleep patterns, and stress levels.
In addition to its health and fitness features, the watch allows users to access Amazon’s Alexa, respond to messages, and make calls using a built-in keypad dialer. The watch can store up to ten favorite contacts for easy access.
Powering all these features is a 470 mAh battery, which can last up to 12 days under heavy use and 18 days under lighter use. The Redmi Watch 5 Active is available in Midnight Black and Matte Silver colors for $33.
