All four iPhone 16 models come with 8GB of RAM, according to a new report. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus have 2GB more RAM than their iPhone 15 counterparts, which might explain why only the iPhone 16 series will get the Apple Intelligence feature set.
Apple’s iPhone 16 Models Feature 8GB of RAM, Report Suggests
A new report from MacRumors, in partnership with iSWUpdates, claims that all four iPhone 16 models announced yesterday boast 8GB of RAM.
This means that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, which were previously rumored to have 12GB of RAM, have retained the same amount as their predecessors. On the other hand, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus have 2GB more RAM than the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
The report’s findings are illustrated in the image below, which showcases the RAM amounts of all four iPhone 16 models.
It’s possible that this abundance of RAM explains why the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus won’t get the Apple Intelligence feature set, while the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will, when iOS 18 lands in October.
The iPhone 16 family will become available for pre-order on Friday, September 13 and will hit stores on Friday, September 20.
