A short video shows the device’s design, featuring a vegan leather back with an octagon-shaped camera island and four cameras. Huawei is gearing up to announce its first tri-fold smartphone, the Mate XT, on September 10, and the teaser campaign is in full swing. The latest addition is a short teaser video that gives us a sneak peek at the device’s design.

The video is headlined by actor, singer-songwriter, and film producer Andy Lau, who is named as a brand ambassador for Huawei’s Ultimate Design brand. The Mate XT features a vegan leather back with an octagon-shaped camera island that’s similar to the one on the Mate 60 RS Ultimate.

A close-up shot of the Mate XT’s back reveals it will be equipped with four cameras, including a periscope module, but no specifics on the sensors are given. The device is briefly shown in its unfolded form, highlighting its remarkably slim profile.

According to recent rumors, the Mate XT will offer a 10-inch folding screen, a 5G-capable Kirin chipset, and up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. Speculations suggest the tri-fold smartphone will cost between CNY 16,000-17,000, translating to $2,250-2,400.
