The new foldables from Samsung made it to our doorstep and we have a quick unboxing and impressions of the Galaxy Z Flip4 for you before we bring you our full review. By the way we also have a more detailed hands-on with both the Flip4 and the larger Fold4 which you can check out too.
Our Galaxy Z Flip4 review unit comes in the stealthy Graphite black color just like our Z Fold4. It arrived in a slim box with a USB-C cable and SIM ejector tool. The Galaxy Z Flip4 greets you face down in its unfolded state wrapped in plastic. The new black color is a tad darker than last year’s Z Flip3 and still features a predominantly matte finish contrasting the glossy surface around the cover screen.
Z Flip4 is boxier on its sides compared to its predecessor and the build is still excellent with its aluminum sides and Gorilla Glass Victus+ back. Unfolding the phone reveals the 6.7-inch main screen which has slightly slimmer bezels that add to a more immersive experience. The crease in the middle is still visible under certain lighting and noticeable when swiping.
This generation Z Flip has a more useful cover screen which still measures 1.9-inches but can now display more widgets and toggle even more quick settings controls. It also allows you to use the much updated main 12MP camera and the 12MP ultrawide cameras for selfies. As usual, we’ll have a full camera section in the review to see how the cameras fare in the real world.
The other major area of improvement this year are the battery capacity and charging speeds. Z Flip4 gets a 3,700 mAh cell which supports 25W charging speeds. That’s it for this quick unboxing and key features, stay tuned for the full review coming soon.
